Heritage – Cape Coast

EXQUISITE AFRICAN SPIRIT AND PRIDE

Our Cape Coast design captures a deep-rooted generational history of Ghana. Fishing is a culture in and of itself for the people of Ghana. This tradition is a family affair, employing everyone no matter their age or gender. It is the heartbeat of the village. We celebrate this essential work by showcasing Ghana’s coastline and beautiful carved wooden canoes.

Heritage – Takai

Takai is one of the oldest drum rhythms of the Dagomba. Wearing smocks that flare out when they twirl around, Takai dancers strike rods on the tempo of the drum rhythm. The joy of their performance comes from the way the drummers and dancers match each other’s rhythm to create a unified musical tune. This royal dance of the Dagbamba chiefs and princes can only be witnessed on the community’s most festive occasions. As such, this pattern will certainly elevate the luxury of any room it is featured in.

Heritage-Daavi Fucsia

EXQUISITE AFRICAN SPIRIT AND PRIDE

In the Ghanaian ewe language, Daavi means younger mother or younger aunt. The African woman is taught the skill of carrying goods on her head at an early age. Similar to the traditions of balancing books or a teacup and saucer, a young lady carrying goods on her head demonstrates her manners and prominence. It is no wonder we proudly chose a Daavi print for this wallpaper to reflect the luxury and elegance of today’s modern interior design and the rich culture of West Africa.

Heritage-Larabanga

EXQUISITE AFRICAN SPIRIT AND PRIDE

The origins of Ghana’s Larabanga Mosque are shrouded in layers of myth.

Yet despite its simple mud and reed construction, centuries of extreme weather, and some misguided renovations, it has survived as one of the oldest buildings in West Africa. The tribal chief had his own entrance, as did the muezzin who ascended to the minaret to call Muslim worshippers to prayer. Men and women had their own entrances to keep them strictly apart. The Larabanga Mosque is of the Sudano-Sahilian architectural style, known for the grid of support beams that jut out of its exterior walls.
